            Shawl Weaving Artisan - Wet Processing

            Dyeing process of wool, silk and jute

            Objectives : At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
            •  identify suitable dyeing processes for wool, silk and jute fibers.

              Requirements

               Tools/Equipment’s/Instruments
               •  Gas stove                       - 1 No.         •  Lab thermometer                   - 1 No.
               •   Stainless steel beaker         - 1 No.         •  Measuring cylinders.              - 1 No.
               •  Direct dyes                     - as reqd.      •  Glass /metal stirring rods.       - 1 No.
               •  Acid dyes                       - as reqd.      •  Rubber Gloves.                    - 1 Set.
               •  Acetic acid                     - as reqd.      Materials
               •  Soda ash                        - as reqd.
               •  Common salt                     - as reqd.      •  Wool, silk and jute fibers        - as reqd.
            PROCEDURE


            Identify the fiber and write the dyeing process, suitable
            dyes and colour shade in the below mentioned table 1.
